LISS SORRY

With a kind of 90's Calvin Klein model vibe about them, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Danish teenagers LISS were some sort of boyband and to be honest you wouldn't be far off. Rather than putting out sickly pop with dodgy dance moves, the foursome instead have been churning out ice cool tracks full of cold funk via hit-makers XL Recordings. Their latest 'Sorry' is markedly less warm sounding than previous numbers 'Try' and 'Always', but with its more sparse production there is better appreciation for the band's harmonies and regret-filled lyricism. Although slower, LISS do not let up on the electronics and mount a crescendo right at the apex. With their First EP out for release on 13th May, LISS are XL's wildcard. - SJ
